No Vaccine
Changed Life
On November 15th 2021 I woke up with no work commitments. I’d been informed prior by the school I was a Technology teacher at that if I returned to work on this day I would be escorted immediately off the school grounds.
I was given sufficient time to say goodbye to my students, & my career. Management kindly informed me that they did not wish to remove the teaching role, but it was government policy; as I’d not taken a vaccine. As usual I still received a Christmas gift from the school, but all of this left me wondering - what to do with my focus, time, bank house mortgage & whether I would ever go to a restaurant or get another haircut in the salon.
There certainly was a division; & this choice to refrain from the ‘Covid’ vaccination led me down an alternative path. I sold my home, & attempted to find feet in a new reality; one of building community with others who had made the same choice to not get the jab.
But this path lead to a discovery that it’s not that easy to step away from ‘the system’. Finances, belonging, social interactions & the ability to set up the future has become uncomfortable for most. We know that the world is changing fast, but we find comfort in looking at the familiar to build a sense of consistency.
The idea was for likeminded people to band together but four years later it doesn’t appear to be that way. Many walk a path alone.
What will your path be from here?
What does It look like to build meaningful connections, free of fear in your everyday life?

This was a great post Stevey.
